Financial Protection: Avoid high excess charges
from rental companies with Gigasure’s Worldwide Car
Hire Excess Insurance. Whether you're navigating the
busy streets of the UK or winding roads abroad, our
policy covers the excess costs for any damage to
your rental vehicle, protecting you from unexpected
expenses.
Reduced Expenses: Car rentals often come with
higher excesses (you are responsible for the up to
the excess amount for loss or damage to the vehicle)
or in some countries such as the USA with no cover
at all for loss or damage to the rented car. Cover for
this can be bought from the rental company,
however, this can be very costly. Our Worldwide Car
Hire Excess insurance is available at a fraction of the
cost, making it a budget-friendly solution.
Travel with Peace of Mind: Travel stress-free with
international car hire insurance that includes
misfuelling, lockout, and key replacement cover. No
matter where you are, you can focus on enjoying your
trip without worrying about potential repair bills or
unforeseen incidents.
Flexible Coverage: Choose from Single-Trip policies
(up to 31 days) or Annual Multi-Trip policies (up to 65
days), with the option to add additional drivers and
customise your cover for your specific needs.

Gigasure’s Car Hire Excess Insurance offers Worldwide cover, including popular destinations like the USA, Canada, and Europe. However, we do have some exclusions. Our policy covers all countries except Afghanistan, Belarus, Cuba, Congo, Iran, Iraq, Ivory Coast, Liberia, North Korea, Myanmar, Russia, Sudan, Syria, Ukraine, and Zimbabwe. Additionally, if you have Annual Multi-trip Cover, you can choose to exclude UK rentals and reduce your premium. We also cannot provide cover in regions where government bodies, such as the Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO), advise against all but essential travel. Please make sure you always read carefully your Policy Documents.
A single-trip policy covers a single rental agreement for up to 31 days. You can choose the duration of cover when purchasing the policy, ensuring it aligns with your travel plans.
On the other hand, an Annual Multi-Trip Policy offers unlimited cover for multiple rental agreements throughout the year, as long as each rental does not exceed the continuous days limit (up to 65 days) based on the option selected at purchase.
Yes, you can include up to 9 named drivers on a single rental agreement during the Car Hire Insurance. Simply add them to your policy at the time of purchase, and they’ll be covered alongside you.
Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) covers the cost of damage to the rental car in case of an accident, while excess insurance specifically covers the excess fee you would need to pay to the rental company if the car is damaged. CDW provides additional protection, and Car Hire Excess Insurance ensures you’re not out-of-pocket for the excess charge.
When renting a vehicle abroad, standard rental agreements typically include Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) or Loss Damage Waiver (LDW) and Supplemental Liability Insurance (SLI). However, these often exclude coverage for certain parts of the vehicle and only partially reduce your financial responsibility in cases of damage, theft, or third-party liability. Consequently, you may still be liable for a significant excess—ranging from £500 to £1,600—depending on the rental company and country. Gigasure's Car Hire Excess that can cover you Worldwide is designed to protect you against these potential out-of-pocket expenses, ensuring a worry-free rental experience wherever your travels take you
While our Car Hire Excess Insurance helps protect you against unexpected car hire costs, it's essential to recognise that it doesn't cover other potential travel mishaps. Travel Insurance is crucial for protection against medical emergencies, trip cancellations, lost luggage, and more. By combining both policies, you ensure a worry-free journey, knowing you have the right cover. Explore our tailored travel insurance options.
